“Not afraid of being seen with industrialists” Says PM Modi during the launch of projects worth 60,000 crore at Lucknow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hit back at the opposition in a euphemistic manner saying that he is not afraid of standing beside the industrialists.

While addressing the government-industry interface on the occasion of the inauguration of several development projects for Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi said that if the intentions are true and clean then there is nothing to worry about being seen or photographed with the corporates.

He also took a dig at his political opponents who have been accusing the Modi government of being a ‘suit boot ki sarkar’.

He added that there are some people whom you wouldn’t ever find being photographed with industrialists, But there is not a single businessman in this country who would not have gone to these people’s places and bowed to them in reverence.

Pointing at former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, who was in the audience, Modi said that Singh can give details of many such deals of “those people”.

While the Congress party has taken on Prime Minister Modi for his ‘industrialists’ remark and said that the ‘suit boot ki sarkar’ reflects crony capitalism. In a press conference last evening, Indian National Congress (INC) National Spokesperson Manish Tewari took a jibe at Prime Minister Modi on his industrialists and business magnates remark.

He said that the Centre reflects the crony capitalism. “Congress party is not against industrialists and business magnates but is against crony capitalism,” said Tewari. Tewari added that PM Modi shouldn’t compare himself with the father of the nation ‘Mahatma Gandhi.’

During his address, PM Narendra Modi also appreciated Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath and his government for speedy intent to conversion. “UP is all set to become a 1 trillion dollar economy very soon.” PM Modi added.
